About types
Brush color → Transparent
Creates a gradient that fades from the brush color at the start point to transparent at the end point.
Transparent → Brush color
Creates a gradient that fades from transparent at the start point to the brush color at the end point.
Custom
Lets you define multiple colors and their positions along the gradient.
About control points
The small squares along the gradient bar are called control points.
Move a control point
Drag a control point to change the position of its color on the gradient.
Add a control point
Tap between two control points, or tap the icon to add a new point.
Delete a control point
Tap the icon next to the color you want to remove.
Change a control point's color
Tap the color you want to change, then adjust it using the color wheel or numerical values.
Change a control point's opacity
Tap the icon next to the control point's color to adjust its opacity.
Change a control point’s interpolation type
Tap the icon next to the color to switch how colors blend between points.
You can choose from four types: Flat, Smoothstep (100), Smoothstep (50), and Linear.
Reverse the gradient
Tap the icon in the top-right corner to invert the gradient's colors.
Save to My Gradients
Tap the icon in the top-right corner to invert to save your current gradient.
When saving a gradient, you'll be prompted to give it a name.
Saved gradients can be accessed from My Gradients via the icon in the top-left menu.
You can long-press a saved gradient to rename or delete it.
You can also use My Gradients with the Gradient tool.
Use a preset
Several presets are available by default.
Tap the icon in the top-left menu > Presets to apply one. *Presets cannot be renamed, deleted, or edited.
About shapes
Shapes determine how colors spread across the gradient.
Linear
Creates a straight gradient where colors change evenly along a line.
Radial
Creates a circular gradient that radiates outward from the center.
About spread
Spread controls how the area outside the gradient range (from start to end point) is rendered.
Extend
Extends the start and end colors beyond the gradient range.
Repeat
Repeats the gradient pattern outward beyond the start and end points.
Invert & Repeat
Repeats the gradient pattern outward, alternating the direction with each repetition.
