The reference board feature allows you to place reference materials directly on your canvas.
This makes it easier to create illustrations while referencing your materials.

Adding materials from the reference board panel

1. Activate the reference board panel from "Manage panels" in the top bar
   
2. Tap Add
   
3. Select the material you want to use and tap Add again
   
4. The material will be added to your canvas
   
   
   

Adding materials by dragging from other apps

1. Press and hold the material you want to use in another app
   
2. Drag the material into Pastela and release it over "Add to reference board"
   
3. The material will be added to your canvas
   
   
   
   

Managing added materials

*If icons or controls don’t appear, try tapping the material to select it.

Move

Drag the material with your finger or stylus to reposition it.

Resize

Use the corner handles on the material to enlarge or shrink it.

Crop

Tap the icon at the bottom of the material and adjust the visible area by dragging the edge handles. Tap ✓ to apply the crop.

Flip horizontally

Tap the icon at the bottom of the material to mirror it horizontally.

Rotate

Tap the icon at the bottom of the material to rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

Delete

Tap the icon at the bottom of the material or in the reference board panel to delete it.

*If you don’t see the reference board panel, enable it through from "Manage panels" in the top bar.

Lock

Tap the icon in the reference board panel to lock all materials.
Locked materials cannot be moved or deleted.
Tap the icon again to unlock the materials.
